Depart Auckland at 7am to travel south through the fertile farmland of the Waikato to the Waitomo region. Enjoy a guided tour through the mystical chambers of the world famous glow worm caves. Your tour continues with a boat ride through the glow worm grotto, illuminated by tens of thousands of tiny lights emitted by glow worms suspended from the cave ceiling. We continue east to Rotorua, a thermal wonderland of roaring geysers and boiling mud pools. Tonight you will be entertained by an authentic Maori concert and Hangi meal experience -starting 7pm. This morning you will visit Te Puia –Maori arts and crafts institute, Rainbow Springs –Kiwi wildlife park and the Agrodome –unique farm experience. Accommodation provided.
Depart Rotorua 8am and travel to Lake Taupo, New Zealand's largest freshwater lake famous for its Rainbow Trout and watersports. You will have the afternoon at leisure to explore Taupo and its many delights.
Depart Taupo at 10:00am bound for Wellington. Travel through the Desert Road, with wonderful views of the towering peaks of Mt Ngauruhoe, Tongariro and Ruapehu on a clear day. The coach travels via Palmerston North and then along the Kapiti Coast and on to Wellington arriving in at 5.00pm.
